The Harvest is Approaching

August 22nd, 2007
By: David McNally

The potatoes are almost ready to come out of the ground it seems.  Here on PEI growers are starting to apply the first bit of dessicant to some of the early crop which means it will only be a matter of weeks before the harvest begins on the east coast.  Throughout the Pacific Northwest growers are in the fields or getting there as we speak

Word on the street is that acreage should be in check this year and with some luck the markest and prices will be good.  It has been a relatively good year for all with some below average temperatures at the start but the crop is looking good and are starting to size up well.  It is amazing how quickly the season can come and go.

As the time draws near we at Sensor Wireless want to wish everybody involved a safe and profitable harvest.  Please check out our free tips and hints section under the Smart Spud product line to help improve your bruise free and as always contact us with any questions.

Have a great fall harvest,

David McNally
